🀝 Participation Guidelines

Welcome to the Food Image Crowdsourcing Project!

Thank you for contributing to our food image dataset. Your participation helps build better AI models for food recognition and nutritional analysis. Please follow these guidelines to ensure your contributions are valuable and that you have a positive experience.

🚫 Prohibited Content

The following types of images are not accepted:

  • Images containing identifiable people
  • Images showing illegal substances or activities
  • Images with watermarks or copyright notices
  • Screenshots of other apps or websites
  • Non-food images
  • Duplicate submissions of the same meal
  • Heavily filtered or edited food images

πŸ‘ Recommended Practices

For the best experience and to maximize your token rewards:

  1. Original Content Only: Only upload images you personally took
  2. One Dish Per Image: Focus on a single dish or meal per photo
  3. Good Lighting: Take photos in well-lit environments
  4. Clear Focus: Ensure the food is clearly visible and in focus
  5. Recent Images: Upload images of food you've eaten recently
  6. Variety: Try to upload different types of foods
  7. Honest Descriptions: Accurately label and describe your food

πŸ“ Image Metadata Requirements

When uploading an image, please provide:

  • The name of the dish or main food item
  • Estimated portion size (with units)
  • Cooking method (if applicable)
  • Main ingredients (optional but helpful)

πŸ”„ Frequency Guidelines

  • Maximum 5 images per day per user
  • Minimum 1 hour between uploads
  • At least 20 images per month to maintain "active contributor" status

All images undergo a two-step review:

  1. Automated quality check
  2. Human verification (for a random sample)

We may reject images that don't meet our quality standards or that violate our guidelines.
