Welcome to the Food Image Crowdsourcing Project. By participating in this project, you agree to the following terms and conditions that govern your use of our platform and the images you contribute.

2. Definitions

"Platform" refers to the Food Image Crowdsourcing application
"User" refers to individuals who register and contribute to the platform
"Content" refers to images, metadata, and descriptions uploaded by users
"Dataset" refers to the collection of food images and associated data
"Tokens" refers to the digital rewards earned through platform participation

3. User Eligibility & Registration

Users must be at least 18 years old to participate
Registration requires a valid email address and secure password
Each user may maintain only one account
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their credentials
We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate our terms

4. Content Submission Rights

By uploading Content to our Platform, you:

Grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, and distribute your Content for research, development, and commercial purposes
Confirm that you own or have the necessary rights to the Content you submit
Understand that you will be credited through anonymized contributor IDs but not individually named
Acknowledge that you cannot withdraw Content once it has been incorporated into our Dataset
Agree that you will not be entitled to any compensation beyond the Tokens described in our reward system

5. Prohibited Content

Users may not upload images that:

Infringe upon copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights
Contain identifiable individuals without their explicit consent
Depict illegal activities or substances
Include sensitive or personally identifiable information
Violate third-party terms of service

6. Data Usage & Privacy

Uploaded images will be used to train AI models for food recognition
Image metadata may be used for nutritional analysis research
Your personal account information will not be linked to the images in public datasets
We may share anonymized datasets with research partners and in academic publications
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your personal information

7. Token System

Tokens are issued at our discretion according to our reward system
Tokens have no cash value but may be redeemed for rewards per our redemption terms
We reserve the right to modify the token system with 30 days notice
Token balances may be forfeited if accounts remain inactive for 6 months
Tokens are non-transferable between users

8. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, algorithms, and features, is our intellectual property
The aggregate Dataset is our intellectual property, though individual contributors retain certain rights to their specific uploads as detailed in Section 4
Any AI models or applications developed using the Dataset are our sole property

9. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

Technical issues that may affect the Platform
Loss of data or Tokens due to system failures
Any indirect or consequential damages

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
