@franc1s We accept ToS by AO3. That's why we host our fics there. It's not your work. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Have a conscience, if you even know what that is. And clearly you're the one who can't take no for an answer if you can't comprehend that you stole our works, including ORIGINAL ONES. For fanfiction, we acknowledge everywhere that the source material doesn't belong to us. We KNOW that. Our goal is to talk amongst ourselves, you are NOT welcome there. End of story. You're profiting off our works, you're using our IP to train AI models and make money off them. That's illegal. Fanfiction, though it’s based on existing copyrighted characters and worlds (which we acknowledge and do NOT claim any ownership to), is itself protected by copyright once it’s written. The fanfiction writers own the copyright to their unique expression. We don't monetize it though, we respect the OG authors' wishes.
We're asking you to do the same. To do the ethical thing by leaving our things alone. There are better ways to earn success than crush the hearts of many. It's easy for you to scrape, you have no idea how much heart and effort we put into our works.

@nyuuzyou Please do listen to stories like this. @Ihateao3copywriteinfringment (and I seriously hope to god it doesn't end up in that dataset) brings up a good point I haven't considered so far: Author notes. Some of us write personal notes preceding our fics, and that's not something we want to be shared outside of AO3, outside of readers. PLEASE DO LISTEN TO US ABOUT CONSENT.
Are you really that heartless? I simply cannot fathom how a human being can function or even be able to sleep soundly at night, despite knowing they're hurting so many people. PLEASE TAKE IT DOWN, PLEASE!!!

@nyuuzyou Someone with your intellect and especially in the field you’re in, you’d be able to make so many more datasets like this. Good ones, profitable ones without hurting others. Please go about that way instead. Just like I’m sure you worked hard on this dataset and how you’re fighting to keep sharing it, please understand that we worked just as hard for our fics and are fighting to keep them close to us. Please don’t do this to us, please. You’d be able to do anything in your field, please don’t crush and hurt millions of people to do that. I’m asking you with the hope that you may have a shred of humanity in there somewhere, so please do listen. We’re not crying or whining because we hate you, it’s because we love our fics and it’s because a lot of personal emotions went into writing them. So please, PLEASE take the dataset down.

@nyuuzyou Please stop. Feel free to scrape the works of people who gave you their consent to do so, but PLEASE leave the rest of us alone. We consent to OTW’s terms, hence why we post on AO3, but we don’t consent to you or any external sources to rip us off like this and exploit us in this way. I’m begging you, please, take down the dataset. There are plenty of other sources you can use, plenty that allow you to freely and plenty that you’re able to do without causing pain to others. Please. We’re imploring you to listen, and it’s painful to have to keep repeating that. Please don’t take away what is really meaningful to us, PLEASE.
