The
meta-llama
org just crossed 40,000 followers on Hugging Face. Grateful for all their impact on the field sharing the Llama weights openly and much more!
We need more of this from all other big tech to make the AI more open, collaborative and beneficial to all!

BOOOOM: Today I'm dropping TINY AGENTS
the 50 lines of code Agent in Javascript 🔥
I spent the last few weeks working on this, so I hope you will like it.
I've been diving into MCP (Model Context Protocol) to understand what the hype was all about.
It is fairly simple, but still quite powerful: MCP is a standard API to expose sets of Tools that can be hooked to LLMs.
But while doing that, came my second realization:
Once you have a MCP Client, an Agent is literally just a while loop on top of it. 🤯
➡️ read it exclusively on the official HF blog: https://huggingface.co/blog/tiny-agents

Energy is a massive constraint for AI but do you even know what energy your chatGPT convos are using?
We're trying to change this by releasing ChatUI-energy, the first interface where you see in real-time what energy your AI conversations consume. Great work from @jdelavande powered by spaces & TGI, available for a dozen of open-source models like Llama, Mistral, Qwen, Gemma and more.
jdelavande/chat-ui-energy
Should all chat interfaces have this? Just like ingredients have to be shown on products you buy, we need more transparency in AI for users!

GPT-4.1 dropped this week - and it puts OpenAI back in the race for coding & agentic leadership.
⚙️ API only - no ChatGPT toggle for this.
💻 Coding performance is back on par with Claude 3.7 Sonnet & Gemini 2.5 Pro (though Gemini still leads).
💸 Pricing:
• Full: $3.50 / 1M tokens
• Mini: $0.70 / 1M
• Nano: $0.17 / 1M
👉 Gemini 2.5 Pro = best price/perf ($3.44 / 1M)
😵 Claude 3.5 Sonnet = $6 / 1M (!)
🧠 Not a "thinking" model.
📊 Mini shines on general reasoning tasks (e.g. GPQA), but only the full model holds up in SWE-bench-verified (GitHub issue solving).

🎌 Two months in, https://github.com/takara-ai/go-attention has passed 429 stars on GitHub.
We built this library at takara.ai to bring attention mechanisms and transformer layers to Go — in a form that's lightweight, clean, and dependency-free.
We’re proud to say that every part of this project reflects what we set out to do.
- Pure Go — no external dependencies, built entirely on the Go standard library
- Core support for DotProductAttention and MultiHeadAttention
- Full transformer layers with LayerNorm, feed-forward networks, and residual connections
- Designed for edge, embedded, and real-time environments where simplicity and performance matter
Thank you to everyone who has supported this so far — the stars, forks, and feedback mean a lot.

Why the 'how many r's in strawberry' prompt "breaks" llama4? :D

AI agents are transforming how we interact with technology, but how sustainable are they? 🌍
Design choices — like model size and structure — can massively impact energy use and cost. ⚡💰 The key takeaway: smaller, task-specific models can be far more efficient than large, general-purpose ones.
🔑 Open-source models offer greater transparency, allowing us to track energy consumption and make more informed decisions on deployment. 🌱 Open-source = more efficient, eco-friendly, and accountable AI.

Llama 4 is in transformers!
Fun example using the instruction-tuned Maverick model responding about two images, using tensor parallel for maximum speed.

Llama models (arguably the most successful open AI models of all times) just represented 3% of total model downloads on Hugging Face in March.
People and media like stories of winner takes all & one model/company to rule them all but the reality is much more nuanced than this!
Kudos to all the small AI builders out there!
