# Xi'an Jiaotong Univerisity 🏛️
Hi! 👋
This is an ***unofficial*** organization of [Xi'an Jiaotong University](http://en.xjtu.edu.cn/) (XJTU), and we welcome anyone who is interested to join us! 😊

## About XJTU
Founded in 1896, XJTU is one of China's oldest and most prestigious universities.
Located in the historic city of Xi'an, the university is renowned for its excellence in electrical engineering, automation, computer science, energy and power engineering, and mathematics.
XJTU has been designated as a key institution under China’s "Seventh Five-Year" and "Eighth Five-Year" national development plans.
It was among the first group of universities included in the national "Project 211" and "Project 985" initiatives.
In 2017, it was selected as a Class A university under the national "Double First-Class" initiative, and in 2022, it was included in the second round of the "Double First-Class" university development plan.
Eight of its disciplines were selected as national "Double First-Class" disciplines, while twelve disciplines were recognized as "Double First-Class" disciplines by Shaanxi Province.
According to data released by ESI in January 2024, nineteen disciplines at the university ranked among the world’s top 1% of academic institutions, six disciplines entered the top 0.1%, and Engineering ranked among the top 0.001%, placing 9th globally.
